Every now and then, these pictures pop up in retro communities, and honestly, the first time I saw them I was convinced they were real vintage gems. Later I found out they’re actually modern — a photoshoot for NYLON’s CAMP collection by designer Tamar Wieder, styled to look like American camp counselors from the 70s.

And you know what? They nailed it. The whole vibe instantly took me back to my own five summers working as a counselor at Artek. Our branded tees and hoodies with logos weren’t just clothes — they made us feel like part of something bigger, instantly recognizable in a sea of kids.

Looking at these photos, I can’t help but drift into camp memories: late-night talks by the fire, endless laughs with friends, the smell of fresh air, cozy bunks, hiking trails, little adventures that felt huge at the time. That feeling of freedom and discovery — I still carry it with me, and it’s exactly what these photos capture.

Warm, sun-soaked, a little nostalgic — even though they’re styled like the 70s, the spirit is absolutely timeless.
